About Me

Jaewon has been playing the cello since she was 8 years old. Since her formative years, she has showcased her performances to famous teachers and audiences worldwide. She is currently studying with Professor David Finckel and Fred Sherry from Juilliard School and she was studying with Professor Qin Li-Wei during her undergraduate studies by actively improving her performance skills.

She has achieved 1st prize and recognition as the most exceptional performer in several renowned competitions, including the Charleston Competition, North International Music Competition, Seoul Music Competition, Han Ye Music Competition, Seoul Chamber Music Society Competition, and she is the winner of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra Competition. Additionally, she has taken part in prestigious music festivals such as IMS Prussia Cove, Lac Leman Music Festival, and Domaine Forget de Charlevoix Music Academy.

As a well-prepared performer, her repertoire encompasses a wide range of pieces, not only solo works but also chamber music, highlighting her versatility and musical prowess. She actively performs at both Juilliard School and the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory, strengthening her musical foundation. With ambitions to continue performing, she is now seeking further growth as a professional cellist.
